Nancy Denofio is an author, poet, writer, speaker, radio co-host, and instructor. And in my opinion, one of the nicest people I have ever met.
Nancy has written all her life, as the filled boxes will attest. Her natural gift to take a moment in time, and express into words the emotional and physical beauties that lie beneath are extraordinary. With positive outlook, Nancy shares her Poetry Memoirs – not for herself, but for all her readers.

Named Woman Writer of the Year 1994 at Notre Dame College, Nancy has held many poetry workshops at public schools and libraries in N.Y. and N.H. She was a workshop director at Skidmore College for IWWG for 15 years and recently accepted the offer from Women Writers and Artists Matrix, teaching a group of women writers and artists, “Poetry and Art.” In addition she has scheduled two additional workshops “Poetic Memoir” and “Author Presentation,” which will be announced soon in upstate New York. Two additional readings will be coming up in her area during the month of November. Nancy is also an artist, working with oil on canvas.
Advocate
Nancy was brought up as an advocate for the people, watching her own father as he answered questions all hours of the night, as the Mayor of her hometown. Nancy learned not only the art of writing and reading at an early age but the importance of people. Her parents instilled in her the desire to help those who were sick or neglected. Her father would sit at his desk, day and night writing his own speeches, editorials, and other stories. As a child, Nancy remembers her mother, a strong Irish mother who believed in the art of folk tales and poetry, reciting these words daily–even at bedtime.
An outspoken advocate for health care, Nancy has travelled along the seaboard speaking out on the need for a health care system as well as appearing on stage with the late Senator Edward Kennedy for “Save our Security”. She worked her own way up to interview all Presidential candidates on Health Care, in the 1990’s, while residing in the State of NH.
During the Clinton Administration Nancy was an invited guest to the White House and White House Press Conferences on health care. President Clinton honored her after her work on the Americans for Disability Act, which passed during his first term as President. Nancy worked closely with the First Lady during Health Care Reform Act, as speaker for the group in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware, on her way to the White House. She began the First Ladies first campaign for Senate in Saratoga N.Y. attracting attention through her work with the First Lady and promoting her accomplishments while working with the National Press when upstate N.Y. was known to be a challenge for the race for Senate. Nancy also worked for Hillary Clinton during her run for President.
