Barnes and Noble announced the release of their all-new Nook re-reader. Touted as a “Superior Device” by CNET, the e-reader comes just in time for summer.
And At just $139, it competes with the popular Amazon Kindle, offering features including:
- 6″ Touchscreen: Turn pages with the touch of a button, adjust text sizes and shop.
- E Ink Pearl display reads like paper – even in bright sunlight.
- The longest battery life of any e-reader – up to two months on a single charge
- And weighs less than 8 ounces; that’s lighter than a paperback.
What does this mean for the Kindle?
Don’t count the giant out yet. Summer ’11 is fast approaching, and rumors are circulating that Amazon has a few surprises up their sleeve. An iPad competitor, EPUB capabilities, lighter, stronger, jumping buildings in a single bound?
No matter the speculation, you can be sure its going to be spectacular.
