There’s a new kid on the block and I like him! First impressions are important, and Booktango exudes professionalism. The site is well laid out and their customer service is phenomenal.

I was just finishing up my Lost Sigil Ebook Editor Manual, and and self-distributing to Amazon, B&N and Apple. But what of the other stores? Since my work is non-fiction, it requires more hands on formatting.
If you are like me, my writing is part of my life — it is my baby. I can professionally format my work in epub and kindle, so I was hesitant to hand over my raw Word file and have it ground up and spit out. For me, it had to be perfect.
As if they heard me, I received a well-designed HTML email. Always on the look out for companies to help my readers (and me), so I took a look at Booktango.
The site was professional. Excellent navigation, easy to find information. But it was the “How it Works” video that sold me. (The FREE Sign-up didn’t hurt either.)
How It Works
Booktango.com is the latest innovation from Author Solutions, more than just a distributor, they are a self-publishing authors’ all-in-one ebook publishing service.
Online Book Editor
One of the best innovations is the Online Editor, which allows you to make changes and corrections to your book online. No mare having to fix it in your word processor and reupload. (and now they accept .epub and PDF files.)
Online Cover Editor
Another great feature is the DIY Cover Designer. You can upload a predesigned cover, or build one online. You can create and save multiple cover designs that (in the near future) you can socially share – a great way to have readers vote on their favorites.
100% Royalties
You heard right. Booktango gives authors 100% of the royalties for selling in their online bookstore.
Marketing
Booktango offers several marketing solutions and packages. My favorite was the Book Stubs: handy “gift card size” cards with an imprint of your book cover on one side and a QR / Unique free book code on the other. Excellent for increasing awareness for your book.
Booktango also offers several marketing and design packages to help the self-publishing author promote their book.
Evaluation
There is a lot more to Booktango and the Podcast than what is posted here. Booktango is a powerful tool every author should consider. I recommend you sign up (free) and give them a test-drive. You may be happy you did.
