Smashwords gives authors and publishers complete control of their work, including sampling, pricing and marketing. Author contracts are non-exclusive. The author retains all ownership rights to their works and are free to publish anywhere; however, you must be the legal copyright owner of the work; public domain books are not acceptable.
This makes Smashwords an an ideal platform for publishing novels, poetry, memoirs, non-fiction essays and more. Plus it is free to publish and distribute on Smashwords.
