Before “Pines” and the TV Series “Wayward Pines” I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing Blake Crouch. ~ SF Parrott updated 6/2016
Original Podcast: April 2011
I am thrilled to have as my guest this week, BLAKE CROUCH. Widely popular author of such thrillers as ‘ABANDON’, and ‘RUN’.
We discussed Blake’s latest book “RUN”. To call RUN a thriller is an understatement. An excellent read, RUN pulls the reader into the fight of one family trying to stay alive in a world is inexplicably inflicting mass Genocide.
We also talked about the importance of proofreading your work before publishing. Too many grammatical errors are slipping by, enough to spoil the worth of the book. Granted, not every error may be found, but the effort needs to be put forth.
Blake is fortunate to have a proofreader as well as an e-formatter to code his works into professional Kindle and EPUB format. He said he uses a Kindle friendly Word document when writing, and then while he is waiting for his formatter to professionally create his MOBI and EPUB files, he uploads his version to Amazon.
If you are a newbie writer, then self-publishing is a good stepping-stone to get your career started. Blake still likes the process of a traditional publisher, but also embraces e-publishing and I am thankful he has. His work is exceptional and I am happy to count him as one of my favorite authors.
