CNN reported J.K. Rowling may finally allow e-books for the Harry Potter series. Not only will this be a tremendous boost for the e-book industry but could “potentially earn [the author] a further 100 million pounds” if Rowling agrees.
Rowling has squashed the idea of e-books of her best-selling Harry Potter books for years. But the tide seems to be turning. Sources state she is “actively considering” making the books available for the iPad and Kindle.
So what could this mean for the e-book market? The move could revolutionize the electronic publishing industry, “triggering rocket sales of e-book readers such as the Kindle and iPad.”
With more people purchasing e-readers, this means more sales for authors. I also predict the price of e-reader devices to drop dramatically as an enticement. And with the potential sales of Harry Potter e-books thrown into the mix, expect the fight between iPad and Kindle devices to intensify.
And who will be the winner? Everyone. Amazon, Apple, JK Rowling and readers. If you thought the e-book industry was exploding before, wait until Harry Potter hits the market. It will be wicked.

I sincerely hope Ms.Rawling decides to release the Potter series to e-readers. I for one, who bought the whole series in hard back, would also buy the series in electronic format the day it was released. Imagine the revenue it would generate?! It boggles the mind really.
